Raconteur accepts both pitches and completed works. If you have an idea, email editor@reconteurmagazine.com. If you have a completed work, please see below guidelines for submitting your work. We take our time to thoroughly read and view each submission. We understand if during this time you decide to present your work to other publications. If the piece is picked up by another publication, please let us know so we can take it out of the queue. We are looking for original unpublished works.

Submissions are only accepted via our Google Form. Submissions must be made before midnight on the date of the deadline to be considered.

About Raconteur

We organize our issues by theme. And then within each issue, we organize the work under the following topics.

WANDER - Stories about movement or travel. Stories about how movement across a landscape changes a soul. The journeys we take.

READ - In Read we are looking to invite contemplation, seek deeper truths and ponder uncomfortable ideas. Or relax. Tell us a story that soothes, reminds and comforts.

LINGER - Long form. Serials. Works that need time to unfold. These appear in newsletters, as sections, as chapters and allows for depth shorter form work doesn’t have the time for.

TASTE - Stories from the kitchen table, recipes with memory as an ingredient. Culinary traditions and techniques. Hunted, gathered, grown.

LOOK- Visual arts. Photo essays. Short Films. Paintings and Mixed Media.

CURIOSITY- Peak our interest. Review a book, a museum, a gallery. Tell us why a tool, technique or process was borne and persists. Tell us about a fading tradition.
