A Love Letter to Wool
From the moment we met, I have loved you. And I have known you all my life.
You adorned the backs of my ancestors. We have washed and woven and worn you since the moon first kissed the stars. You are as old as time and just as valuable.
Holding the red clay mountain and swept out prairie, you are ever-changing and perpetual allure. You are the essence of earth and ether.
I dream of wool gathering times. Lanolin and grit stained fists full of you, underneath a spitting sky.
We work together to artfully curate things of beauty & balance. A cloak to ward off winter's grip, a blanket to ease the bone cracking cold.
We are companions, you and I. As easy as old friends.
You are iiná. You are life.
All of these reasons & more are why you hold my heart.
From the moment we met, I have loved you. And I will love you all my life.
